Have Bennett trim tabs on a 1986 Carver 4207. Had the boat hauled and trim tabs were removed and rebed but now the indicators run up and down constantly. The trim tabs work correctly, just that the indicators will run from full up to full down constantly. I would assume it is a recalibration issue but cannot find any documentation on the boat about the trim tabs and looking on Bennett's web site don't find any product support for the old (86') indicators or system.

Any suggestions to fix indicators appreciated,

Afraid I can't be much help Roy, but back in the day when we raced ski class boats with Mercury twisters, the engine was your trim tab. We came up with a push pull cable and cut a vertical slot in the dash, that would indicate trim level so we didn't have to keep turning around for visual conformation. It was crude but it worked. I honestly don't know how you adapt that to trim tabs. I'm sure someone here knows exactly how to fix your problem...good luck.

Thanks. I am at home, about 6 hrs away from the boat for a couple weeks but will find what model I have when I return to the boat. It appears to be original equip (circa 1986), as I have not been able to find any indicators that look like what I have.

Contacting Bennett may just be the best option. Thanks for sending the link for instructions. Those look a little newer than what I have but most likely the same procedure.

It sounds like the indicators are either not attached or not plugged in.
