    62ft Vintage Feadship Tiky (ex Alto Volante)

    here are pics of Tiky -one of the Pilothouse aft screen with my 2 boys (Rufus and Puppy) as well as the removable doors(which stow in the seat) and the windows that operate electrically to disappear into the lockers), a slightly "photo-shopped" pic (to remove the background) and a couple of others of her afloat before she went back ashore for the w/l to be painted and for the seized aft propshaft bearings to be sorted

    You have taken on a major project, done yourself and a beautiful "lady" proud, now beside being the Skipper of an amazing and unique yacht, you will need a new project within a year. I'll wager that.

    Feadship tiky - next project - tollcraft

    Ah! how right you are and therein lies my dilemma. The restoration process is probably the most enjoyable aspect for me and most of my previous "projects" have been sold pretty soon after completion - always at a loss and always to my great regret.. (vide AMOKURA, the lovely 51ft 1938 Fred Shepherd designed Yawl that I found as a wreck and had rebuilt from keel to truck over 7 years and then stupidly sold a year after competition).

    We've also just finished the rebuild of my 1938 26ft Chris-Craft (described on Yacht forums) but I think Ill be keeping her for a while at least and I also hope to have several years use of TIKY.

    But you're right, - I do need another project but time and money is short (actually money is non-existent) so its likely to be small one. One idea I'm toying with is a 1960s 22ft 1960s Tollcraft hull that I bought a couple of years ago a few quid and has been stored under a tarpaulin since then. It was originally designed as a 50 knot offshore race-boat and was very successful in its class so the builder produced a few "cruiser" examples with a cabin and 4 berths etc but it was not a success and the firm went bust. When I came across her someone had hacked off most of the cabin top, presumably intending to put it back to race mode but I think I may reconfigure it as chase-boat tender for Tiky - may restore her original Volvo or fit something else...possibly even a couple of hefty outboards .it would be fun to use and possibly be a way to get my three 20-something-year-old sons and their girlfriends to come on vacation with us

    ...of course if my lottery ticket comes up trumps, there are a couple of interesting derelicts Ive found...

    62ft 1961 Vintage Feadship Tiky (ex Alto Volante) pilothouse new electric windows

    the new windows have been fitted in the pilothouse. they operate electrically using a low-tech electric motor and pulley system. when fully opened they disappear totally into the locker beneath. how cool is this!

    Out of curiosity, when do you decamp to Antigua and are you afloat there? we've been a couple of times and love it.. We stay at the Inn at English Harbour and are planning to return this Dec/ Jan

    That would be a perfect hull for a center console, and would be very functional as tender you can tow behind Tiky. The raised deck on the boat just doesn't look too appealing. Another thing you could do would be a Donzi Classic cockpit arrangement on her and use the racing deck height/look with a larger cockpit.

    indeed..one thought Ive had is to have the tender as basic open hull, like the Playmate Coronet, but with a horseshoe seating at the bow . The other possibility is a more complex arrangement like the IC 21
