They just introduced an iPad app along with charts for $10.00 per region. My iPad is fully decked out with max memory, so refresh rates, storage should not be an issue but what I experienced was a very disappointing application. I was never able to get their product to work in a fashion that I would recommend on a boat. Their technical reps are in Europe making timely interactions a frustrating experience. After one week of confusing emails, a new app was released. This provided no help. They may have excellent products for the PC market but this attempt is a disaster. Do not waste your time or money on this application. :(

Hello Seaduck, Welcome to YachtForums. I see that you've been here a while but this is your first post. I use the Navionics app on my Android based Samsung tablet. It works beautifully. I also have the app on my phone. I cruise the Chesapeake using the tablet and I also occasionally use the phone app in Florida on seatrials. Both are very useful gadgets and in many ways, better than my Garmin 740 on my boat. YMMV. I have no experience with the NV charts. It perhaps sounds like one to skip based upon your experience.

I also use the NutiCharts app in conjunction with Active Captain. Excellent info and function.

Thanks...I downloaded the Navionics iPad app and am also an avid Active Captain user. Both have worked very well. You are correct, both are nice gadgets to have as I depend on redundant Raymarine units as my primary charting systems - one powered by Navionics and the other by Maptech. But it's nice to have a tablet that my guest can use while underway as a teaching tool. All the best.

I ve tried just about every charting app and the one I end up relying on is the garmin app.

Never crashes, excellent charts and features, active captain integration.

And most important for me, it has excellent Bahamas charts.
