Boat was sold several months ago and i am looking for a motor yacht. i like this model but i dont see alot of them out there. If anyone has any leads please forward them here or via mailbox.

Always good information on this site, this would be my first m/y. With a large dog I am concerned about getting on/off the boat. I would be on a finger pier. Any other pet owners out there with a motor yacht?

I forgot to mention that i did see a 56' M/Y in Lighthouse Point. According to the broker the owner added an aluminum platform underneath to increase the running surface. They also installed 6' fins/stabalizers. The owner would commute to Canada and did this to improve the ride. Are there any other owners out there with similar modifications?

Either my boss or I checked every 56 that was on the market 1 1/2 years ago including that one. PM me with any questions you may have. Those 6' fins threw me, until I realized they must be talking about 6 sq. ft..
We did a fairly intensive rating of the boats on the market, ended up buying the #2 on our list. #1 was sold recently. Take a look at the one in Ohio if that's still available. That was # 3 on our list. The Naples boat was also a serious consideration. The one you're talking about didn't make our list for a few reasons. Being a Florida boat was one, the Canadian thing was another.
P.S. Boarding with a dog is a concern. On ours we have a ladder, a sea step and a step stool. All have been used at different locations, plus the aft ladder. If going stern in you'll need about a 30' finger to make side boarding possible.

With the sportfish I found that boarding the boat with the dogs was pretty straight forward. They simply jumped in and out (Okay so they fell in the water one time). Getting the groceries on board was also just a step away. I want to go full-time liveaboard and did want to try a motor yacht but I must say that I am beginning to lean towards the sportfish again. Decisions, decisions..

For living aboard it's hard to beat the 56. A ton more space than any SF of a similar size. If you've got side boarding, at least with a 30' pier, a sea step or a dock step makes boarding easy enough from a floating dock. Traveling you may from time to time have to deal with a ladder for up to 4'. A SF is generally easier to board from a floating dock, but not necesserilt so from a high (fixed) dock.

They're also just really comfortable boats. Very well insulated from noise, but air and water noise. I have slept on everything from a 176' Feadship on down, and I sleep the best on those old bilge smelling Hatteras' for one reason or another.

Yeah, it seems like on a SF that there is always some part of the gunnel between the riggers and cockpit that is the right height to get on and off.

You may want to take a look at the 61' Cockpit Motor Yacht. It's basically the 56' Motor Yacht with a cockpit.
