Hello all, not sure how it happened but we we are the new owners of this awesome 1968 46' Aluminum Roamer!

1968 Chris-Craft 46 Roamer Riviera Power Boat For Sale - www.**************

    Anyone know the boat?

She's been with the prior owner for 25 years. He's done a wonderful job of keeping her up. We don't plan on any major work this coming season but will likely major the 427s when our current boat sells.

I've been enjoying the forum and look forward to getting and sharing info and advice.

    Great Day

    Outstanding!
I especially like the new electronics and teak/holly floors.
She's a beaut and quite a rare bird indeed:

Consider yourselves pretty lucky to own such a "star" in the Roamer firmament. She's one of 17 made in AL 5086 and "On the Mark".
    Congratulations and keep us posted.
    Cheers!

    thank you!

Thanks for the reply-yes, she was a rare find. We had officially stopped boat shopping when she turned up. The former owner had her for 25 years and was not shy about doing projects. All the workmanship was top notch. The consoles and cabinets in the helm area are very well done; they look like they could be factory. The galley/head soles are composite material which I like. Her engines have 2500 hours (reportedly) but they are reputed to run great and have had some major documented upkeep. I'll take on a major overhaul when needed without reservation; the boat is worth it.

    DetroitCoho,

Congrats! She looks to be in great shape. I hope to travel out your way in the spring to look at a couple of roamers. It would be great to visit with you.

I have the Detroit diesels 700 hours give or take that I love how are the 427 motors I always wondered also make sure to check your exhaust tubes as I found out the hard way they can rust out and cause all kinds of problems ...

Please do some searches on YF. I remember some post about rebuilding and manifold questions on the 427s.
    They are pretty lil ships.

We haven't run the boat yet. We'll sea trial her in the spring. Inspection and review of service records lead me to believe they've been pretty well maintained. Yes, I've read up on the 427s a little. I've heard about the cross-over on the intake burning through so we'll take a close look at that. One of the engines has already had a top-end rebuild so I'll probably tackle the other one right away, if for nothing else to make sure the valves are all working and adjusted properly.
