Totally agree, but I would change Rising Sun (not my favourite 'bannenberg' at all) for Martin Francis' Crystal Ball, the most stunning megayacht ever designed, I think.

100 mil is a bit thin too. It could easily be approaching 200+ mill. Depending on numerous variables. Linear feet cost exponential dollars.

Great example is P967 the stunning new Frank Mulder design estimated at 169mill Euro for a 405' 2007 custom build TBD.

That's why I would need the lucky numbers for the next 10 drawings ..

Rank 1 averages around 60-70M€. So with a capital of around 600-700M€, one should be able to build it and maintain it

Seriously, this yacht imho is merely about statin I've got the biggest one. With a fleet that ,if he keeps his current yachts, will contain a surreal number of yachts in the TOP10, hardly anyone will argue with him about the biggest and boldest ...

Although the drawings make it look like a yacht, I guess seeing it in the metal will make it look like a min-criuse-ship. With 130 pax onboard, you can hardly argue that it isn't.

As well, we do have the respect him for trying to push the designers and builders to their extreme limits on his expense.

Personally i don't see a glimpse of designers being pushed in this ship;
beside from being big it lacks innovation, something new designwise, something that would it make stand out if you'd shrink it to a normal size (eh, 60 - 70 mtr... )

I'm agree. Although in my opinion she's beautiful (not so original but very impressive) it's very difficult to me to consider her as a yacht. It's just a question of size. I prefer call her a "private cruiseship" or even a "floating palace". Yachts for me are in a league apart.

Bad news for Abramovich. Today I have read on several national daily newspapers that his wife has asked the divorce and also half of the patrimony of Abramovich, approximately 9 billions of dollars.

Which will be the destiny of its yachts and of Eclipse, under construction at Blohm+Voss yard?

Yes, I read it too, for those not subscribed, in the same article there is an interesting unconfirmed note that Larry Ellison sold 50% of the Rising Sun to Geffen (Geffen Records)...I know he was shoping around for some time, so the rumor might be true.

First off, one must think in the way a Billionaire does... which means, how can I outdo the competition?! Followed by, never judge the book by its cover, so even though it may look like a crewship on the outside, what goes on the inside has to be the FINEST! Agree?

Lastly, this puppy could certainly fit on a Dockwise yacht carrier, in the event the billionaire owner, in this case Abramovich, doesn't want to spend extra $$$ (or Euros) crossing the Atlantic for crew expenses, fuel (that's got to be a huge bill), and it could certainly fit on any of our yacht carriers perfectly, bearing in mind that the newest carrier comes in at 209 meters (685 ft.). I would really like to see the cost comparison of going on its own bottom vs. Dockise transport. Something that big has got to be a gas guzzler. It sure would be interesting to find out.

True. There is another issue these days. With all the press on global warming in some countries, it might "look better" if Dockwise was used. Optics could be spun by any decent PR company as the floating equivalent of car-pooling and therefore a "greener" way of doing things.
