We have been here at Huckins for almost two years now. Fairway is under a covered slip and always looks good when I walk by. I do not have any details. If your in the Huckins shopping mode, You do have to look at her and some others around the Jax area.

    Huckins motoryacht --Watermark

Well I have seen a number of comments regarding Watermark the 53 foot Atlantic. I purchased Watermark which was being stored inside at the at the Huckins yard. Turns out she was in exceptional condition in terms of the basics. Bill Gladding did the survey for me-an excellent surveyer-and the most significant finding was the condition of the fiberglass on the bottom. I had Huckins strip the bottom and then apply two layers of new glass. It turns out that a previous owner had replaced most of the double diagnal mahogany bottom so that was a pleasant surprise. Huckins had done the complete interior for the previous owner and she had new Cummins 6C series engines installed in 2002-only 500 odd hours on the engines and new gears.
I had Huckins paint the hull and got underway to bring her home to Solomens Island in southern Maryland where she is berthed behind the house.
Trip was a great run with no issues.
Boat handles beautifully and I run at 1700 doing 16 knots.
Getting ready to paint the deck house--we are just having a lot of fun with this boat.
Apprciate all the help I got from members of the forum who answered a lot of questions along the way.
    Thanks

I think she sank, and was refit. If she is as nice as the pictures imply, she is a very good value even though the 40 Sportsman is one of my least favorite Huckins designs.
    Best,

Hello everyone! Just joined after reading the whole Huckins thread.
We are considering the purchase of Hull # 426 Huckins MY, 1981 68',
originally Bravo Papa, then Lady Vivienne, now Flying Colors.
    She lies in Boston currently.
Anyone have any info on this yacht would be much appreciated!
    Thanks

Nice boat. She was a northeastern boat for a long time if I recall, as I saw her around Stonington CT severs times in the late 1990s. She then went for a major refit about 10 years ago.

Slightly awkward proportions as Huckins was trying for a "traditional" yacht look instead of the traditional Huckins look. Roomy inside as a result.

Don't know any more about her other than dockwalking observation.

Old equipment and stuff has been getting removed for several days now. Free-board has greatly increased.
I hope some hours are in store for her and she can get out and stretch her legs. I hate to see these old girls just sit.

    Huckins 1971 65 hull #406 paint job

Vessel will be in Storage for few months, will be back in Florida Lauderdale Marine Center for a full paint job, we are not sure to keep it original White or to choose a Royal blue hull with red booth stripe, egg shell decks, strip and varnish all painted wood like most Huckins or ??
We will be removing the chiller system and install a Termodinamica inverter Type condensing unit (variable speed compressor) Demo boat for Mabru Marine
Electronics will stay simple with Garmin 7212 on the Fly and a 740S 0n the lower helm,
The interior will have all new white cushions to contrast with the dark Mahogany, carpet also will stay white with carpet runners, white honey come window treatments.
Refrigerator will be remove and replaced by Vitrifrigo under the counter drawer type.
We want to keep this vessel as a classic, any advise will be appreciated.

WOW, that's a pretty ship. Shoot the guy that tracked dirt in your cockpit.
I'm surrounded by Huckins boats and this one looks like a real clean / uncluttered ship.
Not sure about that nylon line holding up a Raw water tube on port main, nor the rounding clamp keeping the hose in shape downstream from that. Something more proper could have been done here. Watch your fingers on that deck plate when working that sea-cock.
Didn't notice helms seats on bridge or P H.

There was an ole Huck named BFB here a while ago. She had a blue hull. Showed every ripple and screw bung on the hull. Please consider the darker the hull, more stuff shows (or will show after the boat works and flexes).

    Congrads and keep us updated.
Cus ya know, we like to watch..
