I prescribe a smooth 18 year old scotch taken at regular intervals, and unregulated quantities?

It is the worst thing ever in my memory. Good news is that you'll be better in a few days.

    Wisdom X 4!

An oral surgeon thought he would do the deed in the chair.

    Wrong!

Took the chicken route and had the job scheduled at the hospital.

Slept like a baby - never felt a thing, 'til I awoke.

    Time heals all wounds.

    Hang in there.

That's what I did when I was about 20. Got zapped and felt no pain until I woke up, then some real pain. What made it worse is my dad cooked up a sirloin tip roast and all I could eat was tomato soup. My co-workers at the gas station I worked at got a relief from my smart-ass comments for a day or so until I healed up.

Two in place, one never came in (Guess I'm not all that wise:)). But years ago the last one produced huge pressure. So while I watched TV one night I pushed on it to relieve the pressure. Must have pushed real hard because I broke it in half. Funny thing was that it didn't hurt and the pressure was gone. It felt great for about 3 weeks until it got madly infected and from one second to the next I was smiling, then crawling on the floor in pain. Wisdom teeth, like the appendix and tonsils are God showing his sense of humor at our expense.

Aye, been there done that: Did 3 at the same time in the chair. Got a cocktail of drugs including Nitrous Oxide, or Laughing Gas. All that sent me into a happy spin and I forgot the surgery going on and instead focused on putting my hand on the pretty nurse's arse.
Every time I Tried to grab her behind the doc said with a stern voice: Put Your Hand Down.

As for the extractions going on, did not feel a thing, enjoyed the party instead, would have enjoyed it even more so if I had caught her..:D

I can feel with you BUT:

I had similar "surgery", they had to take out 4 molars when I was 8, and for each of them I got some steam engines, junctions, waggons, ... for my model railway.

Maybe this translates into nice boat stuff in your case!

You've got more guts than me. In fact maybe more guts than brains. No way would I distract someone with a drill in my mouth or risk ticking off the person who could "accidently" bump his elbow. Dental assistants and waitresses I treat like my revered sister until the risk of revenge is past.:D

I've had two extracted, a breeze compared to pain involved with a allergic reaction to latex from a catheter

There's comfort in knowing you're not alone. One of the foundations of a forum! Thanks to all who shared their pain. Feeling better this morning. Having soup for lunch. Dinner too. Keeping my couch company while researching XenForo from my iPad. The hydrocortone is leaving me loopy. I can see why people get addicted to pain killers. Sometimes it's good to feel nuthin'!

I was on pain killers last year when I broke 3 ribs on the Starboard side, hurt like hell it did so the Docs prescribed the same stuff Rush Limbaugh got hooked on, but not sure I could get addicted: Got the same buzz as 2 rum and cokes and it was pleasant enough for a short time, but quit the pills early in the program and just drank beer instead, missed my 2 daily six packs of Becks and could not combine the 2, people die from that.:(

(Now I quit the beer as well, 1800 calories a day will leave a mark on the waistline and young girls had stopped chasing me down, now on a diet, coffee and fruit ...Got some leftover pills Carl, no calories there)

Do be careful with the pain meds. After crushing my foot I was on painkillers for a week and then, after the operation they switched me to Oxycodone. It made me very happy, but they scare hell out of me. So I alternated with the weaker pain meds and quit all about 4 days after the operation (the doctor gave me 30 days worth). JUST 4 DAYS. First night was fine. 2nd night I went to bed and my eyes sprung open. Thought it was normal insomnia, and even thought about taking another pain med to help me get to sleep but decided against it. Next thing I know I'm going through 5 hours of withdrawal. Nothing so recognizable as puking or fever, just crazy thoughts (including suicide) and unable to stay in one position for more than a moment. After that I know I never want to experience severe withdrawal. It's easy to see how people start with a minor injury and end up robbing pharmacies. Get well soon.
