Have 1993 Carver 330 Mariner. Key is missing from the electrical panel. Any other ideas other than a $175.00 locksmith ?

    Thanks!

If you can't pick the lock or work the bolt unscrew the entire face and open it from the opposite side. Most locksmith's today will simply punch the lock leaving you to buy an entire face plate. So if you hire a locksmith confirm that he will pick the lock or jimmy the bolt before you pay for him to come out. P.S. these locks are not Willie Sutton proof if you get my drift.

I have noticed locked breaker boxes on many different boats. Our 35 year old Bertram had them. I have questions of the safety of locking breaker access doors. With children and/or idiots on board, maybe it's a smart idea, for quick access in normal, or emergency conditions, I would think an un-locked breaker panel would be safer.
Think about these things before you replace that punched lock.

Sometimes there is a number in the lock. Post that number and maybe another viewer here has a spare key to lend.

There is a number on the lock, I'll need my glasses and a magnifying glass to see it... LOL
Both of these are good suggestions, I'll look at it this weekend.

    Thanks Again...
