Browards 1987 build, "Oasis" has been up for sale and has now experienced a reduction on her asking price. The 29.11-meter yacht was on the brokerage market for 1.65-Million USD now is asking 1.25-Million USD.

Oasis is no longer for sale

Oasis is no longer for sale--I know, I purchased her. She is now Burning Daylight, crossing the Panama Canal on Christmas Day 2012 with rebuilt motors, two new gens, new a/c, and lots of other improvements.

    other names of this vessel

The Broward yacht first known as Morning Edition has been through several owners and name changes. Oasis and now Burning Daylight are its two most recent names. Does anyone know anything about the other names this vessel has cruised under? I believe it was in Hawaii and was renamed Kakela but not entirely certain of that. Any help in identifying past names would be appreciated.

The USCG data base shows the previous names OASIS, SEYCHELLE, PRIME TIME, KAKELA, and GALE WINDS on the current document. This may be only a partial list.

A USCG abstract of title search will show a complete history of mortgages, liens, previous names, home ports, and owners so long as the vessel has been under USCG documentation. You should have received a copy when you purchased the boat - or you can order one from the USCG or any maritime document service.

I used to see OASIS from time to time around southern California, but that was a few years ago. Which way were you heading through the canal... to the other side, or on your way back here?

    Thank you for your response

Thank you for your quick response. Actually, Burning Daylight (the former Oasis) is just back in Southern California, so you will see a lot more of her in our home waters. As for the names, it has been something of a mystery even with Coast Guard documentation. She left the factory and cruised for sometime under the name, Morning Edition. I met recently with a member of the Denison family--the family that built the vessel--who was very kind in helping me identify some of her early history. After that, the record does read as you indicate but there were other names that we are having trouble tracing. I am just trying to put together a full history of a vessel that we are very much enjoying and hope to enjoy for a long time to come.
