WOW! How outstanding! Not very often you get to speak with the original owner who ordered her right from the factory! The person your family sold her to owned her for 24 yrs, and really took good care of her. – I do know he put a new engine in it in 89, you wouldn’t happen to know anything about that would you?
I bet it was an experience to go to Viking and see her getting built. Do you remember the exact reason your parents decided to go with Gas instead of Diesels?
Great info on the mph/RPM! – As I have stated, I have not yet ridden on her, and am looking forward to bringing her back home to Detroit. Do you boat on Lake St. Clair? We are down here in Lake Erie.
I do have something that you may want for your Post. …the prior owner told me your father used to pull an inflatable shark behind the boat when coming into Jefferson Beach. I found that shark down in the engine room; Still holding air!!! – might be something kind of neat to have..
Any other info about where your family took her, or any other facts about the boat would be very exciting to learn. Its great to know lean the memories of the families who have enjoyed the boat I now own!
    :)
