    I'm not saying they dont sell in the US, but there is no Sealine only brokerage in the states, that i'm aware of any how, i may well be wrong.

    I'm sure there must be importers over there somewhere. A little research on the net or contact made direct to Sealine would answer that question. :)

    I went to the Sealine website today and did and dealer inquiry on the United States and the only contact it listed is in the UK. Global Yachts based in Miami had been the importer for years and now they do not list Sealine as one of brands they deal in.

    Well, we just got back from the Sea Trial for the OA Atlus 48. This boat went through the water like a hot knife goes through butter... I have to admit that it was pretty calm out there ....

    Never-the-less, the ride was extremely smooth and we were pleased. :) After endless hours on-line reading and looking up specs, features, price points, etc... i think the Atlus 48 is the one we're going to purchase. Dollar-for-Dollar, I'm finding it to be the best Value! We would have loved to consider a Viking, or Sunseeker, but they are not within the $$$ we want to spend right now..

    Now for the fun part, agreeing on a price :eek: will keep you all posted. Thank you all for all your input. I hope that others can benefit as much as I did from everyone's comments..

    AMGinfl - So you didn't find much in the same price range as the Altus? Does seem to be kind of slim pickings in sport motoryachts under 50'. Mostly express designs or trawlers.

    After looking through a number of yachting magazines I also realized that there are not many nice yachts in that size bracket. All of my favorites was the same style as Eastbay, Hinckley, Alden or Legacy. A couple of used Legacys with flybridge can be found here; http://www.legacyyachts.com/used.asp

    Same thing happened when I was scanning my designs, no modern style boats in this size, just another "down-easter"..., maybe an opportunity to design one!? ;)

    Now thats funny!

    Lars;
    This afternoon I was thinking about all the great designs that you have posted and was wondering if you had ever done something in a 40' to 50' range. What I was thinking was it would be interesting to see your take on this type of craft. Perhaps a combination, Eastbay, Hinckley, Alden, San Juan but leaning towards a more economical approach in an express, downeast cruiser.

    Grand Banks?

    Has the option of a Grand Banks 46 not been mentioned? Its a classic trawler, not a sport cruiser I guess. Have fun with the Altus, OA makes great boats.

    True, there are many fishing boats here in the US with a flybridge. Which I like, but many shoppers with no interest in fishing avoid these like the plague. Of course the higher price may have something to do with that also.

    Well folks, here's an update. The OA guys are looking for an available boat meeting our option requests. Should have some answers tomorrow and hopefully we'll have a deal. Have Azimut, Viking and maybe Betram or Post in non fishing apperal (to suite my wife's tast) as alternates. Sorry ladies, I had to qualify that one :D

    Hoping that we will not need them.

    AMG (I like your Screen Name :) ) great designs. Have any of them been produced?

    On Bertrams, it is sad that they have no models with interior steering today. Especially now when it is so easy to install with the electronic setups. Personally I like the classic 33 sportfish with Cat´s. :)

    Seems as you are an AMG-fan as well! Maybe we can make an AMG powerboat...!?

    In this size I have not produced any boats yet, but a fast 40-footer is coming soon;

    Thanks for posting, I had no idea they were producing these boats in Norway?

    The design looks familiar though... ;)

    The irony is that these are rare in the US. So over here such a boat would be considered unusual.

    Hi AMG.. yes I'm big AMG fan! an AMG poweboat would be fantastic idea :).. gotta hand it to you, you have great design coming out! I wish you much success.

    It's too bad that so many european boat builders don't have a dealer network out here.. I'd say that's yet another opprotunity to make some dough :) here in the US. the Taxes kills us though on the imports though.

    One builder you certainly wont have considered is Guardian.
    Here's a link to their site but the pictures dont do justice to this incredible (small?)and oceangoing ship.

    I will do a thread on her later this evening with about 15 better pictures(hungry...:))
