I am having a problem with the thru-hulls on my 1996 Carver 380 Santego. One of the Thru-hulls on the starborad rear of the boat was hit and is cracked. I need to know what MFG the thru-hull is and where I might buy a new one. The other problem I am having is the fresh water tanks seem be ballooning when I fill the tanks so I think the vents may be blocked??? Pat Murphy
The thru hull can be replaced by almost any brand you can pick one up at most marine stores. As far as the water tank is concerned look at the vent where it exits the boat it may be clogged there, If it is metal the screen or the fitting itself may be heavily corroded. If thats not the problem ttry blowing air down the tube.
Hi, If your boat was hit hard enough to crack a thru hull make sure the Water Tank vent ones are not squashed flat from another contact with something else. Just to clarify things, what you call a thru hull does look like one of these doesn't it?
The thru-hull I am talking about is a thru-hull VENT. The picture you posted looks like a discharge thru-hull that water comes out of. The VENT thru-hull I am talking about that was damaged was for the gas tank vent. And on my Carver Santego it appears like a "nub" that sticks out about 1/4 inch and has a "broken" housing that clips to the actual thru-hull. Wish I had a picture!!!
Hi, At least you have now narrowed it down a bit, if you could find a photo it might help someone to tell you where to find one or however many you need. Does anything here look like it might do the job? http://www.marineengine.com/products/accessories.php?g=501&p=1
K1W1, Thanks for the link. Yes I can't be 100%, but the following fuel tank vent looks like it might be the one for my 1996 Carver Santego 380 Gas Tank Vent 352110-1 - SeaDog Line Fuel Fittings Fills and Vents @ MarineEngine.com
