    Hi,

I would think that the reason Feadship or in this particular case De Vries got involved was because she is an old Feadship that they were approached to rebuild.

Interesting to note that one of the You Tube Videos (which are linked to above) has now been pulled by the user. I wonder why that is.

Sorry, my confusion regarding the Feadship connection was the unlikelihood of them having something to do with the project as it stood the last couple of times I saw it.

The disappearance of the video is not so strange, there are still plenty of photos online for public viewing. What a versatile building material marine ply can be.

Nice to see an old yacht, at least cosmetically, taken back to some of her former glory though.

    Hi,

If you do a google photo search for 'sultana: the rebuilding of a classic feadship yacht kees', it should take you through to one of several picasa web albums.

This is an older album but a quick search finds photos of two weeks before launch.

 I was invited to be a board from the Director for one day tour, but now in too far Germany in my office, couldn't go. Hope they find a buyer in Rio De Janeiro and Southeast areas. It is there for marketing demonstration to the growing-up brazilian market. I wish success ! An hope they receive new builds

    Hi,

While it may be the first Feadship that is owned by the Group it is not the first Feadship to cruise in Brazil by any means.

I can think of Meduse and Highlander as two who have done Amazon Cruises, I am sure there are more.
  9. ^ Of course there are more, old and smaller ones. Majority in Brazil are speed ~ 25m or sailing boats, many called Saveiros from wood made in local cheap Yards. The news says that the first Feadship delivered to Brazil was that Lafitte in 1948, I became impressed in that, because it was during War times, and did not know that even in those hard times they continue to building yachts, I supposed not. But anyway it was too long ago. Unfortunatly I did not found pictures of Lafitte those times. GO has a charter division, maybe they are trying to improve first this 2010 charter there to see possibilities of selling further. I don't know. Where she is anchored is normally others < 40m, Lady Laura III (1989 33m Erin) from the famous singer of Brazil, Ambar (25m MCP) from a local Television Moderator, Victoria (41m Inace) and Fantasy probably a Ferretti or something. I can't understand really, Octopus, Le Grand Bleu was there also, but never got attention of brazilian billionaires to buy bigger boats and plenty the coast with them, like is done in Florida & Côte d'azur. Maybe coast or political and cultural reasons.

Feadship Van Lent launched Hampshire II today, she is 78m long and quite a looker I think.
    She is #806.

I think I remember ceremonies like this and then it leaves the yard a week or more later. One interesting thing I saw, it looked like the propellers were not installed yet in later photos it shows that they are flooding the shed. I really hope that the owner will allow a magazine feature of this yacht. She is very stunning and all the features are very intriguing.

On another note, is there any more info, such as the hull number, for the Starck designed Feadship that we have heard about before? Lately, it has been making the news around the tech blogs.
