She's a good looking yacht. Regarding your 'New Launching' for Serenity, I believe she is part of the steel hull displacement series and not the aluminum hull semi-displacement series so that may be fairly inaccurate.

It should not surprise me if it is "fenders" like they have to use on all protruding bridge wings and such that is in fashion right now...

but it is flush -if you will- with the contour of the balcony...so from that perspective....fenders?

Yes, they must cover it all since normal fenders would just move away. If this is what it is..., it could also be storm shutters..?

Maybe storm shutters is plausible because they do not look very see-through to be privacy screens.

Lars...check this pic posted by Daniel... maybe this shows it...with how the white fender is kind-of sitting on it to protect the bulge of the balcony...

Just to keep those of you out there that are interested, interested! The first hull of the 3700s series that was built as the "Lady Ingeborg"...has a new name. "Clia" is her new name...you might remember her previous name was "Necklace II" but she was finally sold.

Isn't it an extra way for the captain to check how the yacht is going, e.g. in a lock? Can't imagine it a real fenders.

Happened to check the webcam, and watched Satori dock.
