We are going from Puerto Vallarta to North Carolina next month trying to find good weather reports found bouyweather is it worth the $80.00 per year? Any other suggestions? Thanks Danny
I use windfinder in that region and find it to be very accurate out to at least 5 days. I've never used Buoyfinder, nor have I heard of anyone that has.
With all the "buoys" here I'm not sure if Cpat. J is referring to "Buoyweather" or "Dial A Buoy". For clarification, Dial-A-Buoy only gives the forecast that you get on the VHF, but it's much easier than trying to listen for the pertinent location., especiallly sea state It does however give you the current situation at the location. With the exception of major weather systems I rarely believe any 5 day forecasts.

I've always kept a hard copy of it in my briefcase, in case I don't have computer access, so I can call in. Good catch, I'd missed that.
Bouy weather I have been using this site for four + years now. I find it much more accurate than NOAA most days. I also have Sirius weather in my Navnet set up. I also look at the NDBC or dial a bouy. When traveling I look as many sources as possible. There is always a difference of opinion in the forcasts and there seems to be more bouys out of order than in the past. $$$ But after looking at as much as you can, use your own judgement. I usually favor Bouyweather.com
Have you tried the BuoyData app for iPad and iPhone? I use it all the time on the east coast and really like it. The "Mar Weather" Marine Weather app is very good also. Bob
