I recently just purchased a 1961 Roamer 35' which I believe is a Riviera from looking at pictures of other roamers. The boat is located in Milwaukee and has spend most of its life there according to the previous owner. Anyone local know anything about this boat? It was in very good shape up until a few years ago when it was left outside for a few winters uncovered. I cannot find any rot but all the wood work needs to be redone. The interior in very nice and the deck has no soft spots. The hull probably has some bad spots towards the bow by the keel and around the prop shafts and rudders. It has 287s which run nicely. I looked this thing over really well before buying it and it seems like a solid boat...now where do I start? I'd really like to get it floating again soon. The previous owner started scraping and grinding the inside of the hull and is about 60% done. I own a boat repair shop in Racine, WI and have redone quite a few boats big and small but I have to say these Roamers are kind of intimidating.

I too have a Roamer in Racine

I have a 1965, 37' Riviera in Racine. Had her about 2 years. I have been repairing bad spots in the bottom (learned to weld) and replacing hard to find engine parts (431's). A work in progress and fun in between. PM me and we can discuss further.

I think she is a Regal Roamer not Riviera. Nice solid boat

Hopeful she doesnt have too many bad spots in the hull...I think im going to finish scraping the hull and get her so she'll float again. I plan to repower with 350s but that's down the road. Anybody know of any good surveyors in the area for steel boat?s

I vote for Riviera. The Regal is a sedan. This is my 1961 35' Regal sedan:
