I'd go up Central America. There's a port in Costa Rica you can get fuel, Roatan in Honduras, Belize City, Isla Mujeres, then across to Florida......Or you could stop in Cuba then Florida although I head checking in and out of Cuba is a royal ordeal.

Just curious, is that 500 mile range at cruise speed or hull speed?

+1 to that. And what is your range at say 10 knots or a bit less?

That would be Limon in CR. Very industrial so make arrangements in advance.

If you could get 710 miles plus reserve, Montego Bay, Great Inagua and the Bahamas is alternate, it might be a slog up though, I did it the other way and it was 6-8ft on the aft port 1/4 all the way "down".

55 gallon drums are easy enough to find down in those parts. Limon in Costa Rica is a ship port.

limon - you wont find fuel there unless you have a "agent" that will organize it ahead of time.. they also dont like private vessels there. It is also possible to refuel , but hassles , in puerto vejo in CR and bluefields, corn island in Nicaragua . the route amberjacks1 suggest is a good one , i have done it that way before . keep a look out for honduran fishery/coast guard officials , they in small pangas and look like local fisherman. at first i did not want to stop and let them aboard until there was alot of shouting on the radio .... enjoy the trip.
