Farsounder vs. Wesmar

    Anyone ever use both of these sonar systems and have thoughts comparing them?

    i have used several diffrent kinds of sonars what are you looking for fish sunken ships rocks middwater fish the boat i run now has two diffrent one 's let me know and maybe I can help

    Far vs. Wesmar

    Primarily using for bottom countour, rocks, entering unknown inlets etc.

    Wesmar Farsounder

    Farsounder was designed to see up to 1/2 mile infront of the boat for "tom sawyers", containers, trees, etc. Will also see into harbors.

    Wesmar will do some of that, but primarily a searchlight sonar, meaning it will drop out of the bottom of the boat and paint a picture in 360 degrees.
    Really 2 different animals.
    Farsounder is usually mounted FWD on a bulbous bow.
