    Here's "Samsong" - a '67 Riviera 37"(AL) - soft top -- very rare.
    Once belonged to a Roamer Club member - now, who knows? :cool:
    It was an Ohio boat I think.

    This time, it's "Scassazzo" (why, I dunno) - a '67 Riviera 37' (AL) with her original 427s. Nice work Brent!

    Roamer spotting

    As far as I know there are only three Roamers in San Diego. One fifty foot something I can't get a good picture of.
    I hope the pictures come out ok, this is the first for me posting photos here.

    ..., but true.
    I've actually seen "Summer Toy" in person - about 3 years ago, when I was out visiting my wife's brother in California. It was in the same marina and looked just as stunning as it did your photo!
    (No one was home at the time).
    Great job documenting the few Roamers that made it out West Wally - no doubt these fantastic "Roamers" would want to be Club members themselves.
    Make sure they hear about us!

    ANother '67 Riviera 37' soft-top came to my attention - see her for sale on the "Holland Exchange" (www.geocities.com/hollandexchange) -- very rare bird/complete with custom aluminum arch as well. Sweet!:p

    "Harmony II" - which belongs to a Roamer Club member as well - always one of my favorite "big" Roamers. She's '63 FDMY 56' -- the biggest they made that year. :p

    Redman, you're quite the Roamer expert here.

    OK, I'm a kid riding my motorcycle around in the '60s past the old Chris Craft plant in Pompano Beach, FL.
    There are three big old bare aluminum hulls laying out in the field; no decks.
    Looks like they were the last of a run that were victim to a poor market.

    What do you suppose they were?

    BTW, at that time, my family used to do it's boating nearby--we passed by the old CC Test Center off Lake Santa Barbara whilst heading up to Hillboro Inlet.
    There were always a bunch of Chris's at the docks, eye candy even back then!

    That would be you having a 60s-induced flash-back - imagining what Dick Genth, the CEO of Chris-Craft would decide to do to the Roamer Boat Division in 1979: Stop production.
    And this from a man known for his "vision" - sheesh!

    Don't know how I missed this post? Sounds like we stomped the same grounds! We lived at Bahia Mar in the early 70's and my parents bought a house on Lake Santa Barbara shortly after. Basically, they bought a dock, because the house wasn't much to speak of. I spent my pre-teens water-skiing with a Whaler in Santa Barbara.

    Getting back to subject... I vaguely remember the Chris Craft facility. I want to say... it was "Rodi" Chris Craft? Does that sound right? It's so hard to remember. It was over 30 years ago and I got interested in girls about that time, which consumed all my thoughts! Funny how some things never change, huh? :rolleyes:

    Two unidentified Riviera 37s - including another softtop!:cool: -- not so recently spotted on Lake Charlevoix, Michigan (photo dated 2003 - did they have the internet then?). Major rewards for the person who knows anything about'em.:p

    Does talking to the original owner while fueling count??
    I believe he said he was from Ohio and summered up there. The boat was in great condition and he told me the family had a second Riv, so to see them in photos is a treat.
