Final Ft. Lauderdale Cruise of 2011

Converting FFTC 2011 feature to the review format removes the ability for members to make follow up posts, so we've opened a separate thread for follow-up discussions. We wish all of our members could have joined us, but we short a few life preservers.

Interesting that the sportfish is now called t/t Hemisphere...the new Pendennis-finished very large sailing cat... "Hemisphere" needs a 'big' sister.

    * LOL!!! The Cuor Di Leone captions are hilarious, Carl I see you are having the lighter side of the situation.

Much appreciated! Very nice tour with good humor:)

Regarding Germany is invading again, I can reassure you that Germany has currently bigger problems than invading the USA :D

Again many thanks for taking us on your boat tour!

You go right by Sailfish Marina and don't take a picture of the sportfishing fleet?

I just spent an hour, 2 cups of coffee, 3 "hey, let me call you back in a few, I'm in the middle of something", and a pit stop to 'make water' going through the 3 pages of puns, images, and commentary. I laughed, nearly cried, learned a few things, reviewed, and continued to ask myself two specific questions:

    1. Should I bring my Amex for the fuel dock, a hook of Goslings and my best shtick in preparation to negotiate for a seat on the FFLC 2012.... or.....

    2. Do I have the stones to change my avatar?

Real sailors know that gas cans are red, diesel cans are yellow.
They also know that sailing vessels have been equipped with auxiliary engines for over 180 years..:D

Hey NM, I know that. It was my lame attempt at humor against a sailboat. I didn't get too many opportunities to do that in this thread.
And blue cans are for water. I never look into the green cans. :D

Thank you all for this thread.

Currently following Yachtforums from an interesting location on Earth: 100 miles from the Iraqi/Syrian Border in Southeastern Turkey, finishing up my obligatory military service for 6 months!

You can't imagine the visual contrast between Florida and this 'interesting' region :) Have to go, our welfare sailboat is waiting back home.

Cheers to you Carl, CaptTom and others for all your efforts...

Thanks for that report! Very entertaining. I have been in KW now for 5 months and this makes me miss Ft.Lauderdale more and more.

About Avante V and WTC, the photo is of the boat in the harbor and the towers smoking in the background. I've noticed the photo at National Marine Suppliers off of SR-84, poster sized on the wall among other yachts right as you walk in.

    To answer your two questions:
    1. Definitley bring your Amex and Goslings, since we didn't. I got the alligator arms when the bill came for the fuel.
    2. Make that photo your avatar and you'll scare away women and children.

    Thanks for the kind words.

The commentary was too funny. Amazing pictures. Just wonder what was talked about that didn't make it online.....If only the powerplay could talk!
