Is there a way to find out the history of a boats name.
I just found a picture of a boat that had run aground, a few months a go, and it looks like the boat i am thinking of purchasing.

I can't tell exactly if it was the boat i am interested in because there were three sister ships.
This boat was named Laika at the time of the grounding.
The three sister ships (now) have different names.

Can anyone help or give me ideas.

I would say that if the boat looked exactly like that like the canopied the radar arch I was say it was probably the same boat

it may have a sistership but there will be some differences such as the radar canopy the flag the furniture so look for those sort of things to distinguish the difference in the boats.

That grounding does not look like it would ruin the vessel forever. A little bit of time and effort and I am sure all the repairs could be sound. Plus they might had fix other things that they might not had of while correcting the grounding issues. The mis-hap might even had served the vessel.

I agree. If it was a Sailboat one would think that they did it intentionally to put another coat of bottom paint on the waterline ;)

    And another one.

This boat was sold just after the grounding and just before the holding company went BK.
Got the name of the new owner if needed.

The price was around $1.1 million.

Also got the call sign if you are trying to track the hull.

When you say, "Also got the call sign if you are trying to track the hull" I am not sure what that means. Does it mean you can track the different names the hull has had if you have the call sign?

I would like to know how one can track the different names that a hull/boat has had.

    thx

This is exactly what i was looking for, thank you.

But now that i have this information I realize the vessel in question is under a different flag. Picture attached.

Would it be a matter of doing the same research of documentation records for that country? Does anyone know what country that flag represents? Is it UK?
