    Hi Carl,

I just joined Yacht Forums and wanted to thank you for creating a much needed website! I have thoroughly enjoyed the pictures and documentation.

My son and I have a 1976 Chris Craft Roamer and we have spent countless hours researching the history of our boat while restoring it to its original specifications. Yacht Forums looks like a great place to meet other Roamer owners and learn from them.

    Keep up the good work.

    Don

    Hi Don,

Thank you! I'm hoping Yacht Forums becomes a place where enthusiasts, owners and people in the biz go every day to share, learn, laugh... and cry!

I'm doing the best I can to post content, but it's up to members (and lurkers!) to get involved. Everybody has an interest and each person has experience we can all learn from.

For my part... I've got ads in Boating Magazine and Yachting Magazine commencing in January 2004 to help promote the site. In addition, I've also started an Ad campaign with Google. This IS NOT cheap, but I think it's a worthwhile investment for all of us.

Over the next few months, I've got interviews scheduled with yacht builders to document and photograph their design and construction processes. Also, I've got a few interviews with some notable people in the industry and I'm hoping they will join in the discussion one day.

Every persons experience is interesting and adds quality content. Unfortunately, most people just want to read and learn. Those people are usually referred to as "lurkers". I'm thinking "slackers" is a better term! :D

Thanks for joining Yacht Forums... glad to have you aboard!

    Carl

    absolutely!

    Hey Carl,
I could not agree more with the "thank you" above. This site rocks; in no time at all it will be flooded with boating enthusiasts.

    Thanks,

    fish

    Hi Fish,

It's guys like you that make it happen! I really appreciate you posting pictures of the various yachts you have and sharing information on the same. Maybe you can create a thread that talks a little about the Donzi lineage. I found it very interesting and I'm sure others would as well.

Wow, what a blast from the past! Can't believe this thread is over 10 years old. What's even more amazing is how nice I was! :D

Well....I guess I should be honored to know that I'm the new slacker here on YF!
In spite of some of the 600 lb. gorillas on this site that love taking pot shots at some of us...it still is one of the best Forum's I've ever been on. Keep up the good work Carl!
