This Roamer is finally back in the water and running!

I bought it in 2003 and am finally putting final parts and pieces back on her. It's running quite well:
    3200 RPM 22 knots
    3500 RPM 25 Knots

I haven't pushed it any harder than that. We've been trying it out on the upper Severn River and (twice!) down to Annapolis.

    Upgrades include:
    New wiring and breakers
    Stripped hull and painted
    All new glass
    New aft deck
    Stripped interior wood and varnished
Two used Crusader 454's with rebuilt velvet drives
    Upholstery is new
    blah, blah.

It took longer to finish than I expected. It cost more money than my wife expected. (and actually, more than she knows!! ssshhh.)

She looks great!! Hope to see her in person someday as I'm not far ... Herrington Harbour and make it to Annapolis regularly (once my boat is back in the water).

Wow ... that helm panel with the wheel, old fashioned gauges etc. is truly fantastic.

Enjoy the summer ... I'm hoping to be in the water come September.

    More pictures of Roamer 37

Pictures are from yesterday's dinner cruise on the Severn.

Notice how the young crew stays alert, helping the captain avoid river-hazards. I don't think the original Roamers came with game consoles.

    Congratulations David!

Well, yesterday must have been a great day! Looks very nice.. I remember years ago when she was at Liberty. I wondered what happend to her?

If you are propped/geared right, you should have 5 more knots to go. I had that same power and she would hit 35 MPH if she was light clean and perfect.

Don't feel bad... we started 7 years ago and are almost done... interior and decking being done next... lost down South... the labor situation/attitude around Annapolis and the Easter Shore was so challenged I got it out of there and have not had any headaches since with crafts/trades ect.

I have a lot of parts.. let me know if you need something I might just have it or know where it is to be found.

Might be back-up in the Fall.

Thanks for bringing another Roamer back to life! You can't even buy an aluminum Rivie 37/38 anymore.. good luck finding one. They all got snapped up I think. You must have one of the first 37 Aluminum's ever built or darn close.

    Parts?

    Homer,
I am missing a couple things. Do you have an extra drawer from the galley? Also, I am missing some of the rail latch hardware. Finally, if you have extra helm seats, I could use two. Otherwise, I am going to buy tw onew ones from Garelick.

Thanks, and I hope to see you up here with your Roamer.

    Roamer Seats

Perko parts for taft rail.. easy to get at Chris Parts

I have a real nice set of seats.. Helm and Nav (both)

These are in very good condition, were re-upolstered by my dad years ago.. better foam ect.

I have them here in storage.. $100 for both if you want them, but I do not have the stainless steel posts, but the female post holders are there screwed into the seats.

I can send photos pf them if you want first.

I do not have kitchen drawer, but do have old gas cap and bases... those are nice quality.

    Roamer Nation,
It was another wonderful weekend on the water with that fine vessel. I connected the synchronizer this weekend. That's one great invention! Further, the use of the synchronizer confirmed that the tachometers are not quite the same ( about 200 RPM to 300 RPM off). That's ok.

Question: I am getting a bunch of sediment from the tanks in the filters (and water seperator) that is coming from the tanks. I had the tanks "cleaned" and pressure tested. How to clean out the tanks?

I am considering buying a fuel pump, connecting a filter inline with the pump, and using a stiff hose into the tanks to try and collect this sediment.

Any ideas from the Roamer Nation?

    Kitchen Drawer

We removed the oven and cut an opening to allow the fridge to go there. There was a drawer under the oven that was also removed.
What size is the drawer you need?

    Drawer

The drawer I am looking for is one of the small ones that was originally in the corner of the galley.

    Thanks!

Passenger capacity of the Roamer 37

I calculated 29 people for the roamer (37 feet long, 12 feet wide). Although, I would hate to put 29 people on it (that would hinder performance!!).

We were at a raft-up this weekend and when a storm blew up, we had 27 huddle in the boat. Many of them were kids (they're small and do not occupy much space).

Homer - Thanks for the seats and ladder! Excellent additions!!
