    Imagine if such a fire were to occur in Monaco during the race week end. I wonder if the fire crew could even get the safety rails and fence out if the way to get to the boats

    Having 400 F1 trained firecrew around is a lot more desirable than the usual Sapeurs-Pompier that turn up at a scene and do nothing but keep people away while a boat burns to the waterline.

    And thanks for the link to the Nice-Matin, I've missed it. I still have family in Cannes and Antibes and haven't been for a while.

    Fire on the water. We are glad that no human fatalities were accounted for in this event. That would have been tragic. No one ever desires to have a fire hit their boat for sure. Always have an emergency plan and be prepared. Things could have turned out a lot worse. Thank heavens it didn't. :(
