I was just in St.Maarten and saw her tied up at the Fort Louis marina on the French side. We went right by her on our way out fishing. Couldn't see any obvious signs of damage.

She must have been docked port side to, because that video shows obvious damage to the stbd. side.

    Hi,

Filler and Paint are wonderful things, a months after the YouTube Video and a lot could have been repaired inn the warmth of St Martin.

SagHarbourSkip- If your buddy has a different video what harm is there in posting it as I would say crashing into that or any other bridge is in the public domain no matter which way you were headed.

Used to be a yacht in F.L. called "Bondo". Always prayed it was the guy's business and not a statement on the boat.

    Hi,

I knew a few of the crew years ago, I can't for the life of me recall which brand of bog the Owner made but that was his business for sure.

funny thing with owners........you have a 42' boat and they want to go around the horn....with a 198' boat they want you to stick it in a 197' hole..:D

From the video I saw exiting St. Martin, port side damage.

We were there for that, it was the talk of the harbor. Why I dont know but she ended up having to dock behind "Soggy Dollar" for the repairs. Like you said, someone always wants you put a 198 in a 197's spot

no, i said that wrong...any one that owns one of those things knows that 198' willnot fit in a 197' hole.........how ever they beleive, with all their friends at cocktail time ,that a 197' boat can be put in a 198' hole...

Sure it will. Done it many times (with smaller boats). Just hang your bow over the cockpit of the boat in front and your cockpit under the bow behind. Anyone who's been to Coinjock knows the drill. Lewis knows how to pack 'em in.:)

It would take a few cocktails for me to grow the culjones to try to get Azteca into the harbor in St. maarten.

No. You'd want to be stone cold sober for that one. The "culjones" come with the job. The cocktails come later.

Nycap123, i agree with the soberness. hahaha. closest i have come to that kind of stress would be doing LNG escort turns at 9 knots in the savannah river. Laying the tug over 35 degrees and still pulling 80 tons on the LNG Kari Ellen. That was a butt pucker value of 9 on my scale. I am glad the washburn and doughty company had us due 40+ heel over maneuvers up in maine during seatrials or i would have dumped the spool.
