I am trying to get first hand information on the new Cheoy Lee series of trawlers, the Serenity series. Any good, bad or general information on them, primarily the 68 footer would be appreciated.

    Cheoy Lee Serenity 68

As you are aware the Serenity 68 is based on the tried and true 66 hull from Charles Whitholz, She has been modernized to include updated equipment as well as interior. As far as quality Cheoy Lee is one of the most dynamic yards in the world today having a huge advantage over other builders due to the advanced commercial projects the yard specializes in for clients world wide. These attributes also give the advantage over all the yachts the yard produces. Cheoy Lee definitely deserves a closer look.

    Hi,

I would guess as the poster gives their Biography as Yacht Marketing and the Occupation as Advertising he or she might have more than a passing interest in the use of smoke and mirrors.

Couple this with the fact the the User has been a member here for 3 yrs and made two posts. One a year after joining and one today.

You guessed it folks the other one was a smoke blowing one in the direction of the same builder as well.

Do we have a lurker here with a hidden agenda?

l could see your point but I have been an admirer of the yard since Shep Root took his new 40' trawler from the yard to Ft. Laud on her own bottom in 1976. A fact other builders would love to balk about it. No smoke or mirrors about it! All I am saying is they deserve as hard a look as anyone else.

Sure sounds like an advertisement to me. They wouldn't be a customer perhaps?

I am not familiar with the 66 footer but am well aware of the Cheoy Lee yard reputation and appreciate the input from the above listing. I'm comparing the Nordhavn 64 to the serenity and it seems to be a very viable alternative.
