Why is it so difficult to get a car on a yacht?

Nah, that car is probably a pile of corrosion products by now.

It's little wonder it costs so much to rent a car in Rangiroa when morons drive them in seawater.

    Hi,

Have a look at the Dutch Coloured stripes on the side, they are the same as in a picture of the Alumercias Toyota in the snow in NZ

There is an article online detailing their RTW Trip, they mention being on Rangiroa Atoll so I just joined the dots.

It's definitely not the same. As Marmot so eloquently put it: "Nah, that car is probably a pile of corrosion products by now." For $5,000 plus you can rent a rather nice ride in most places. Only way this would make any sense would be if they were in a place where no land transportation is available and in that case I doubt there'd be a dock they could put up on. To think that people who can't figure this out are running big companies should be scary to their stockholders.

    Hi,

If you think the Australians are a bit **** I wonder what the thoughts about the NZ Agriculture rules would be.

A couple I know who lived in Australia for 30 yrs decided to move back to NZ and retire in their early to mid fifties.

They sent all their gear to NZ the first car was said to need cleaning when it got to NZ and it was a $500 fee, the second one was professionally cleaned specifically for export to NZ while in Australia and wrapped before going into a container, yep you guessed it the same cleaning was needed upon arrival.

When the car was available for collection it was reported to actually be dirtier than when it was wrapped for shipping.

I suggested that the "cleaning" operation in Auckland must have some connection to the person making the rules, the response to this would end up as a bunch of ******'s if I was to type it here.

You're not saying that the cleaning charge is just a way to collect a another fee are you. No country would do that, would they?

Well, loading a car onto a yacht doesn't necessarily have to be all that difficult.

Chances are though that it probably wont come cheap.

Take a look at this for inspiration

    Strand Craft

Oh, btw. Buy the yacht and they through in the car for free...
  10. when has money, the problem is not the yacht, everything is possible to be done, see recently the KIA OPTIMA Helicopter bringing it to her 'Desire=similar'A'' deck. The main problem remains the many marinas and ports which are not suitable for such, piers and ramps not in conditions per law to bring a car inside. Then remain the License plate in other countries regulations... But I am sure money solve those problems.
