I am moving down to Marco Island next week and am fairly new to the world of larger boats. Is there anyone in the Marco area that has a Sport Fisher and/or a large center console that I would be able to contact to answer some questions about the boats? Maintenance, upkeep, areas to boat down there etc?

    I appreciate any help.

The costs involved in running and maintaining a boat are similar no matter where you keep it. But can vary greatly based on size, type and what kind of engines and systems it has. Once down there talk to people who have boats there that are of the type and style you are interested in.

As to boating around the Marco Island area, while I've never lived there, but I've gone through and around there a fair bit over the years. You have some great boating areas there, as well as fishing, both inshore and off. Plus depending on the type and size boat you end up with you're not that far from the Keys. And you can head up to Ft. Myers and head up the river to Lake Okeechobee and beyond.

Pick up a copy of the Southern Waterway Guide and start Googling boating and fishing for that area.

Hi Sean950054. I will contact a friend to who lives in Marco. They live in a condo overlooking a small marina that is empty. I was there just a month ago. I just love the place. I will PM you with some details later on.

I was at the City Docks in Naples yesterday. Saw dolphins playing in the marina :) Marina was clean with restaurants, shops, and points of interest nearby. Good assortment of boats: usual charter boats but also a Cheoy Lee 66 lrc, Hatt 60 efb, Azimut...
