    i know your collecting hull numbers to keep track of all the roamers out there.

    seagenieII (formerly evel eye)
    hull# RMQ 58 0508 R

    i checked the roamers club website and saw that this is the last hull number for 1970.
    is that correct? is this the last one produced for that model year??


    we just started our salon restoration. after getting through the layers of vinyl
    wall covering and mildew, we came acroos what looks like the original wood covering.
    looks like a lightly colored laminate.
    do you have any idea what these boats looked like when "on the showroom floor?
    do you know of a place to get original mauals and photos from that era?

    Great work "breaking thru" - there's beautiful ribbon mahogany underneath all the add-ons. Will send you some "beauty shots" when I get on my work computer.
    Richard Avery, CC's chief stylist (1962-82) brought in well-known interior designers to meet the needs of customers - especially in the larger motoryachts like yours.
    Will post some of those photos for you soonest.

    thanks....wow....very inspirational!!!!!!

    seems the roamer i have is the only one ive seen without a dinette...in its place is the full head with entrance from the forward stateroom.
    the berths in the forward room run along the hull, one on each side....
    ill have to get you some photos.
    was this an option in 1970? or was that a custom job???
    we are thinking of replacing the full head and making a dinette to free up some room in the salon for more comfy seating.

    Brochure Shots

    CC pretty much made these big Roamers to order - whatever the customer wanted they could build -- thatz probably what accounts for your rather unusual forward section (see second photo for yet another alternative).
    In general, I like dinettes, they just make too much sense. Still, the boat shown with the "best" kitchen has a dual-use counters outfitted with stools instead.
    Tradeoffs, tradeoffs...
    It just occurred to me, that the "stock" deckplans/layouts are available in the sales brochures of the day. You can purchase those "brand new" from Vintage Marine Sales Literature: http://www.vmsl.com/ - probably a good investment on many levels.
    I do have some photos taken from these brochures, and will post them as I dig them up (see the deckplan for a 60' here: http://www.geocities.com/alloyed2sea/Motoryacht_Riviera_60.html).
    Still, if I were you, I would not be "hard over" on a completely stock restoration - many (many) new improvements & technologies have since become available, all of which improve general liveability, provide greater efficiencies - and offer real aesthetic gains (ex. ultraleather).
    To be frank, boats built in the "70s" reflected some pretty wild ("mod") color schemes and materials (polyester :eek: ).
