Looks like a stylized rattlesnake. The head starts the "U" and the "dots" represent sections of the rattle.

Perhaps a reference back to the Navy's Union Jack.

It's only a matter of time. They sure do sound nice though.

A couple of vendors had live demo boats again at this show, including a tricked-out center console for Simrad...

...And a colorfully wrapped Hatt promoting the Zeus drives

Ducklings headed out for a sail on the big sea

Cakewalk from the 17th St Causeway

Even though FLIBS was not at Pier 66, local brokers were offered space at a good price to host their yachts on these docks

Got an invite to tour the new Aqous yacht Big Fish. This is a very cool boat. If you have not read the review here on YF, do yourself a favor and take a little time and get immersed in it. Take in the innovations, style and layout. As the owner of this expedition yacht that has plans to cruise to the Antartic and be the first yacht through the Northeast Passage said, "We don't need art in the yacht, just open the shades and the view is the art".

The saying in the foredeck states "I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul"

From that perspective she could have been a Broward, or a Stephens of similar vintage.

Just curious. How are the granite deck? Most unusual. Curious to see how they are when wet.

The jury's still out on these decks. In my 'Details' section of the BF review, I expanded on this...

These decks were egg-frying hot on the day we toured the boat. In sub-zero temps, it's yet to be seen if they will turn into sheets of ice. My guess is yes. Still, the decks have merit. They should wear very well. Guests and crew don't need to remove their shoes. Installation time is considerably faster, but I don't have info on the price difference between traditional teak or these new granite decks.
