My brother saw this on Facebook and likes it so has questions. He called me since I owned a boat and especially a Roamer I should know everything about this one LOL. So if anyone knows anything about this one please email, especially if you know who owns it then I can talk to them. Thanks from me and thanks from John.

Sure, looking for a Roamer stashed away in the 200 miles or so of waterways in Fort Lauderdale shouldn't be much of a problem. Unless it's on the hard then it might get a little more tricky ...

Dang...that thing looks great in the pix. Very well outfitted. And the price...just a few years ago that would have been a half-million dollar boat or more.

If he goes to look at it, tell him to open up the floor hatches and look at the frames in every part of the hull. I've seen some of these that have beautiful interiors but frames that resemble swiss cheese.

I know what you mean about the frames, I've offered to go with him to look at it. Heck I'd go anywhere to look at a boat, but he doesn't know what he wants to do. That thing would make one heck of a live aboard and great to cruise the loop, east coast, and even the islands with good weather.

I told him I'll help him anytime he needs a deck hand. If he got a professional captain that knows how to handle boats that size he could learn to handle it easily. He asked me if I'd teach him but I told him he'd be better off with a pro for that and to take some of the Power Squadron courses.

So, would this be his first boat? If so, does he have experience driving metro buses on ice? If he does, he'll probably understand how these things work. Otherwise, everybody's gonna want to clear the docks!! lol

NO experience so needs to be instructed big time. He wants to get a crew until he learns, if he does anything. So far a lot of talk but no movement at all except to call me and ask me a ton of questions I have no answers. I owned a 48 which is a different breed of boat than this one. He seems to think because I've had 3 boats in the 40 foot range I know about all boats, or it could be he isn't really as interested as he says he is. LOL

If the tries to dock it I want to be out of town and no where near the place. My 48 was easy to dock but I don't know if one this big would be as responsive. Biggest I've docked was a Hatteras 58 for a friend. Those are great handling boats based on that experience. I told him to look at a Hatteras in this size if he is interested, he is not a do it yourselfer and I think a Roamer would be too much for him.
