Hi All, Had new Fairline since Feb 09 and want to know if anyone thinks a backup to the hydraulic windlass would be good idea or even possible?? Also, if anyone is building now I am happy to pass on important info and suggestions.
I'm just starting the build now of a 78, capngazza. I signed/paid about 2 weeks ago and the hull is being moulded now. Completion late Dec 2010. I'll keep it in Antibes, near you. I'd be really interested to hear your important info and suggestions. I'm having lots of customisations including fin stabs and long range fuel, but (so far) I haven't thought there's any need for a windlass backup. Anyway, any advice you can offer would be gratefully received. (I've had Fairlines before - a couple of 58s)
Thanks. The boat leaves factory Dec 2nd 2010, then seatrials, then it's doing the London boat show 2011, then they hand it over to me late January 2011. All pretty familiar things to you If you are at LIBS2011 take a look. It's the most customised boat/best boat Fairline have ever built; I've specified about 70 mods from the standard build, including big stuff like an additional staircase, different shaped cabin partitions/bulkheads, totally different flybridge helm, 3rd fuel tank, zero speed fin stabs, Laser sailboat instead of jetski, and loads more. Check out fly dash (below - i didn't get the hang of images on this site the first time I tried)
Beautiful, congratulations. I will be at the next London Boat show and I will definitely take a tour of the boat.
I think it is safe to say we will all be looking forward to more pics. Especially any custom features you are willing to show us. Congratulations.
OK, i'll try to put a post up with some pictures later in the week. I have over500 in-build pictures, because I've visited the factory every couple of weeks since April and they send me pictures in between visits. I have given Fairline about 30-40 drawings/renderings with my requests on how to make it and they have sent me a big stack of .dwg files and renderings. So i have a lot of material to sort through! I'll concentrate on the customisations because you're familiar with the boat from TK430's thread.
I'm planning to be at the London show as well, I'll make sure that I see the new 78. Congratulations on your new yacht. We're thinking of a bigger sailboat than our current one. So we're going to visit the show for a few days. If TK-F430 or other YF members will be there, it would be nice to say hello for a few minutes. Regards, Vivariva
