    454's

I wouldn't be too quick to settle for low price on those engines. A boater pal of mine just sold some 454's from a Tucker houseboat for much more than that $3000. Seems that folks with the old muscle cars from the 60's and 70's are salivating for these high power engines.
Look around before you set your prices.

    pair of 454's

I have a pair in my newly aquired 1962 44' Riviera. They were installed about 12 years ago and i don't have much info to add. I would say that $3000 is a steal. Do they come with the gears?

    454's

I have 454's with closed loop cooling and they were put in about 6 years ago with 150 hours on them. They sold (not to me) for almost 10K.

How many hours are on them? Are they mercs or crusaders?
    Crusaders are in high demand.

Those look like Marine Power 454's.

Ah, so neither Cruisader or Merc. They are fairly new with electronics, I am assuming ignition. I have not shifted my focus on this project yet. Still working on a '58' Owens Sedan. These 454's have an output of about 300 hp, right?

Went to everyone's friend Google and there they are. I didn't realize Marine Power was a brand. Chad, this pair of 454's go for more than $20k and that does not include extras like secondary water loop pumps, etc. I don't believe this includes the gears either. That is brand new so you make the translation. My first response to the pricing question is always, "they are worth as much as someone is willing to pay for them." Good luck
