I think the Shamrock has been there since I can remember, and I am 45. My father kept the 42' regal at the same dock in Fish Creek, WI. We had the comet and 38' Riviera about 3 miles to the north of Horseshoe this weekend at the family dock. Would have loved to seen you.

We tied to the wall there at Horseshoe last Wednesday with 3 other boats from our yacht club and stayed until Monday. It's an annual cruise for the club. I've never seen the boat before. On Sunday, we counted 13 people onboard.

There is always a crew on board, its nice to see them enjoy. As a boy I always thought the "off shore" was a little odd looking, but I have grown to love them. If you get near Sister Bay soon, let me know, I'll take you on a tour of the fleet, 27' comet, 30' Dispatcher, 33' Riviera, and 38' IMG_0017.JPG Riviera.

Thanks so much for the pictures. My boat looks just like her, with the exception of the addition I put on my boat. I added a up above using 1/2 the sun area on the roof. I am happy to at least know what model she might be. My welder and I are working hard this summer. I am hoping to get her done this year. Things seem to be going well, I really am happy with the work this welder is doing. I'm glad I waited, even though its felt long to me. If I can figure out this computer photo program I will try to put in some pictures. O right the places to find past history coast guard documentation, and registration, then there is a link to another site which will give you any information you will need. It get really tricky if you don't have a hull number, but the site tells you how to get info from the state documentation, and past owners. Hope that helps who ever would like to get history.

Randall, Interlux paints has a very informative brochure on all types of bottom paint, inside and out, from priming to anti-fouling. You can get the brochure at a West Marine store. The help-line number is listed in the event you would like to talk to a specialist. they are quick to answer and informative. I spent 18 hours on my back last weekend, 3000# of sandblasting sand, etching primer and poly primer. Anti fouling coats go on this weekend. She should be good for a while. Almost 1/8" of old paint from 46 years of accumulation. good luck on the project. Post some photos. Ray
  8. Heres a few more "survivors" that we came across in Chicago this last week. The old "SIX PACK" is a gonner but the Lady VIVIAN looks ok...Aluminum maybe??? ws

  9. Hey RAPPLE...
Went by that 27 in Mich City and got the yard info if you elect to call them... Ppat and I are heading up to AC/DC next week to look at some houses. The demographics here are beating us up!! Gonna put the Hatteras in Florida for the winters and keep the Roamer up north. We are looking in Algoma and SB for property and need to find a dock (CHEAP!!) for the Roamer. Any ideas (hint hint!) ? Where do you guys store at? Baudhuins? Let me know! Bill

Hey guys I am new to this site so please advise and or forgive any screw ups on my reply. I have just finished up a 66 modle 48' here in AL it ended up being a 9 mounth project when it started out as a bent prop, shaft, and rudder. as it turned out the guy bought the boat without a survey and the lazzerett area of the hull had to be replaced as did under the shower and under the battery stations in the engine room. And I mean new ribs, new strigers, plate, and even the keel under the laz. I pulled the tankage out first and then cut from 1" below where the bottom paint started around to the aft state room bulkhead under and around. we dropped the whole hull out from under the lazzerret in one piece, rudders, struts, and all. Much more exploratory surgery had to be done as the project ground on but it has definatly been an education. unfortunatly the owners father has fallen into a state of poor health and they live in daytona FL. The owner has decided to sell the old girl now so he can spend time with his father. The hull is in great shape now and its time to turn to the cosmetics. It will be reasonably priced for quik disposal so he can get on with the duties of caring for his father. In referance to the six pack roamer in the photo is that a 41' . Is it just totally rusted out or what makes it such a gonner.

    Hi ray
It seems that we have fallen into the same abyss of over head welding and endless days that your arms feel like they could break off at any minute. I just finished a 48' with the same issues and then some. when we coated the inside of the hull we used POR 15 it is used on restoation of antique vehicles and is very flexible and durable to water. It has a seperate prepping component called metal ready that is a rust kill, converter, etching, bla, bla, bla, solution they make a aluminum color that contains alot of solids and is similar to the color of the original paint used over the cold tar that was there from the factory.

well it seems that I have a few that have fallen through the cracks over the years. Not one but two 48' riviera's both 1966 modles both in the muscle shoals Al area. One in the water after a lenthly stay in the yard for hull refit and the other will probably never see the water again but is in a warehouse in florence AL . Also a supposed 1970 41' regal in Decature AL. I say supposed because I am not shure if it was listed correctly when I looked at buying it last year. Only the 48 that just splashed for the first time in 9 months this last tuesday has a name. The FOUR SEASONS has just been moved from its long time home port of Guntersville Al to Rogersville AL I will get back with som ID on the numbers on these vessels

My cabin windows have all been re-framed with custom made aluminum framing and tinted glass. The hull color was my wife's idea because she likes the color green. We have completely changed the cabin interior too with the idea of living onboard and cruising the Great Lakes during the summer months.

I seen that boat in Manitowoc a few years back when we used to be out of Sheboygan and stored it in Two Rivers. I thought it really looked sharp. I don't think CC ever painted their boats this color. A few years ago, that boat was for sale. I don't remember the price. I don't know if it ever sold though. I think it's been stored inside the last few years because I haven't seen it until you posted some pictures of it.

They look great!! Can you give me any input ($/availability) on docks in Sheboygan or Two Rivers for my 36 Roamer? I am guessing you have property in Oconto with your own dock. We are looking for a summer house up that way and our own dock would be superb! If not, maybe an old farm not too far from a municipal (?) marina. r n

    Incomplete list of survivors?

    Hi roamerpals!
I had downloaded a copy of the spreadsheet you had on our old web site back in '07. I forgot all about it until I just looked at the current text list and find that I'm not on this list. I therefore know weve lost some folks.
I am attaching a text version of my spreadsheet to this email. You may have some merging to do, alloyed2sea.

    Hi,

Didn't see any .txt list but clicking on the link in the bit you quoted gets this.

Sorry, the GeoCities web site you were trying to reach is no longer available.
