My Bertram 28 (1981) has worn steering parts. The helm and hydraulic ram and top rudder bearings are good, but the linkage to the rudders is shot. Is this stuff available?
Sure is ... Charman Enterprises can rebuild the helm and rebuild or provide the new K-19 ram. High Tide Marine - will have the rest. I'm replacing most of the steering parts on my 1981 Bertram 28 ... new rudder arm, 3 new couplers, new ram, rebuilt helm, oversized rudders and new rudder bearings. Mike
Thanks for the info on steering parts for my '81 Bertram 28. High Tide did have the needed parts, but Charmin is having difficulty locating the following for the K-19 hydraulic cylindar: 2 rod end assemblies (670360) & 1 stud connector(420211). Do you have any idea where else to try? Artemis
You may want to try an auto parts store for the rod end assemblies. I have had luck going this route in the past.
