I am looking for a break back into the yachting world. I have recently just completed a yacht delivery as crew across Atlantic (June/July 2007) and worked on charters before. I took a break from the sailing and diving industry to study chiropractic (8 yrs). I have lost my contacts and was hoping that someone might be able to help me or point me in the right direction.I know this industry work via word-of-mouth. I am a qualified Chiropractor (2yrs), Diving Instructor (15yrs),STCW'95, EFR Instructor, Fitness Instructor and day Yacht Skipper with VHF license, Lifeguard. I have sent my CV to loads of crew agencies and await their response. Is there anything else that you can suggest or someone whom I can contact directly. Thank you for your reply!!! Ron
more experience gained Please see my previous post. I have since worked on a 140ft Westship as a deckhand with mate responsibilities. I have completed my MOY 200gt license and also been working on a private island in Bahamas as Watersports Instructor and Medical-person-in-charge. I am once again looking for temporary or permanent employment for the summer or possibly some deliveries. I have registered with all the agencies but I find these forums much more helpful and informative.
I got what you looking for!!! Ok so I got my break. I have worked on luxury yachts, private islands and cruise ships. In past 16 months I have been about 23 countries and crossed 5 oceans. What an amazing experience. Now I want to use my focus driven personality and diversified experience and skills to get on a charter yacht. I am a team player with all necessary qualifications and visas to get going immediately. I am intelligent and hard working and love learning new things. I am willing to be part of a professional crew and add value to your yacht. Please send me a message and I will forward my resume. Thank you.
