Perhaps he is aware of that keeping the boat without getting ruined requires an equal amount to the purchase price. At least this is what I recommend...

Not sure if that translated right. You can have NY blonds, LA blonds, Miami blonds, but NYCAP blond would break the budget big time.:D Now back to the subject.

Dont know much about Bayliss other than they are beautiful boats, but Weavers I know are excellent boats with very nice lines to go with them.

    hi

yeah, i read Weaver use kevlar on the inside and outside of the hull, im guessing for the high impact strength, make sence. anyone else doing that?
there latest 63 is pretty nice (there best to date personally), i think its because they have shifted the inlets up...?

Only other boat I know that uses a Kevlar reinforced hull is hull #1 of the 65' Donzi series. The rest were made with fiberglass because it was too expensive making them with kevlar.

I love all of the custom builders.... cant remember the last time I had an issue with any great boat builder. Love the tumblehome on the Jarrett Bay's... If I had the cash to order a new custom boat, it would be a twin of the 1982 Hatt 52. I'd give the designer a photo and say "make my new boat look like that, but make the insides better".

    Necessary Evil,

Dont quote me on this one, but I would say it would probably cost you less to do a restoration on an old 82, then to build a whole new one... then again you could get a cleaner hull through the water, and a better boat full stop.

    Ray23,

Which model are you after? They do have a nice 75EYF... its about as tough as it gets :D

If I won the lottery and wanted a SF boat it would be an F&S or Weaver as a custom or a Viking as a production boat.

    That's easy

I would easily take a 72' Hattaras and with the money left over......we would spend on the Hottest crew this side of Hef's mansion. That is what is called happy motoring!
    Party on!

I love the classics and would definitely be able to buy two and have some money left over for maintenance and a captain to learn the ropes from. I'd take a well cared for Trumpy like this: http://www.**************/boats/1937/Trumpy-Classic-Motoryacht-1886311/Houston/TX/United-States (which just had a $540,000 price drop) to keep in Florida for use during the winter and perhaps do the Great Loop on.

I'd also buy a much more practical fiberglass center cockpit sailboat around 45 feet for use here in the NW during the summer (not that we've had one this year). Both have been my dream since childhood when I used to drool over the brokerage pages of Yachting magazine.

When I tired of those, I'd pick up a classic older yacht like this: http://www.**************/boats/1964/Feadship-Motoryacht-2191244/Ft.-Lauderdale/FL/United-States and refit it to my needs but with modern equipment. After a few years on another boat I'd have a better idea what my needs are to make something like that, but perhaps a bit smaller, my dream boat. I never tire of the lines on a classic, especially now that I seem to be becoming one.

    Dear Patient,

As your Doctor, I have to break some bad news to you. You are suffering from a bad case of Classix.

Classix is an insideous disease that contaminates many a bank balance. It will involve much heartbreak and loss of familytime. Being covered in oil and crud will become part of your daily life.

There many other victims of this disease and we have a yearly meeting to sort out our issues regarding certain problems. :D
