    These articles are cut & paste copies. Read one and you've read both.

    They are assassinating the character of a Commander in the US Naval fleet with claims from a 22 year old deckhand who worked for room and board. In my previous career I worked with naval officers and they are among the finest people on the planet. In fact, YF's own Stan Antrim was commander of the US Naval fleet in the southern hemisphere. Also, I *think* YF member Leeky was a former submariner.

    Let the judicial system run its course but I think ranking officers have better judgement then the accusations being made.

    Excellent point although when alcohol gets in the picture, you never know. At the very least he should not have put himself in this situation by inviting her for dinner and drinks.

    I was surprised too when this popped up on my feed, always had respect for Navy Officers.
    Yeah, pretty sad if true but looking at the mug shot he looks guilty not defiant..

    As for the 2 articles being the same, I honestly thought they were different and would provide a
    more nuanced view, delete one..?

    My "cut & paste" point was different outlets jumping on the same condemning bandwagon. One of the two is not exhibiting any real journalistic capacity, they are trying to capitalize on the situation to drive traffic. I believe this is an area where the "Sun" shines.

    The idea that all officers are gentleman is quite the stretch. From flag ranks down their have been officers that disgrace the services time and time again. Officers are people and there are some people that fail in how the conduct themselves. Is this person a sub commander? The pic I saw was of a Lt. Commader O-4

    He commanded sub for 2 years, USS Springfield.
    With the will power and discipline it takes to get a job like that one would think he could resist the temptation to rape a passed out employee.:mad:
    (Again, IF true, he is not convicted yet, but if guilty this would be a World Class stupid move on how to lose everything)

    It takes a lot to be a nuc sub crew member.
    It takes much, much more to be a nuc sub skipper.

    All sub-mariners go thru many training levels.
    At every step of their training and career, their psychology is also noted.
    The last thing you need is some mind wondering, 1000 feet under water.

    I'm not typing that anybody is innocent, just after a life of training, professional operation of a nuc sub and their psyc always under observation,, it is hard for me to think an old sub skipper to do something this low.
    On the other hand, I used to think the law enforcement folks were angels also.

    Understood, I have read countless books written by nuke sub crews and officers,
    mostly US Navy, but also The Royal Navy, hat off to them all and yes you need to be
    a bit nuts to spend your working life in school and then under water, back to school, etc, etc.
    Hence my previous comments, those guys have some discipline and it should take more than
    a young woman and a few rum and cokes to lose everybody’s respect, lose your family and then spend 10 years in prison hoping for mercy after 8 for good behavior, jeez…:rolleyes::confused:
