There are some social media posts saying MY Solaris is back to EU waters..Wonderful news if true!

Solaris has switched flag state to the Cook Islands. The last AIS signal under the Bermuda flag was about 1.5 months ago. She’s currently doing some sea trials off Göcek—just left the marina, did two loops, and is now at anchor. - with active AIS.

Nice to see Solaris back out and moving again. I wonder how much travel Solaris will do or will just continue to stay in Turkish waters?

Solaris moved to Izmit, probably for a yard period?

If I were Mr. A or Marc Newson, I would sue the firm that designed the yacht.

That would set quite the precedent, wouldn't it? Then we could watch Feadship and everyone sue each other into oblivion.

It is not the same thing, and I think it depends heavily on the type of contract RWD signs with clients regarding the exclusive ownership of their design style, which we have now seen replicated across different yachts, even from different shipyards. It is quite another thing for a designer to 'take' lines created by someone else. Intellectual property still exists... I recall that in the past, Fincantieri had to pay 13.2 million euros to Serene’s owner for infringing intellectual property rights, because it was found liable for reusing the custom engineering and design blueprint, created by Espen Øino, to construct the sister ship Ocean Victory.

I think it's a stretch honestly. Have you read the Dutch Design brief on why Sea Rover was developed? If not here is an excerpt: " The world's only wellness-first yacht, built out of our Founder Scott Blum's desire to live well at sea." On that alone I think any legal entanglements would die on the vine. I see what you are saying but based on that statement alone, I believe it would be hard to tie that design to IP violations. If I produced a piece of artwork that had similarities to an Andy Warhol painting, could I be sued?
