Thx for the kind words Capt. Ralph but I still do the occasional rum but primary poison is probably Pinot Grigio. :D

Amen to that and some have retired from this board but perhaps lurking in the background.
Others have gone to Heaven (Hopefully)

Brother, I was not calling you the shop drunk.
I was referencing somebody else (myself).
You have always been a gentleman and a kind brother.
That does not mean we agree always, but you are my brother and I get aweigh with picking on you sometimes..

    Gents,

One of our senior members just alerted me that he received a PM from MonacoBlue. Upon checking his account, I found that he fired off about 50 Private Messages to various members. I'm assuming they are relatively benign based on the one PM I've seen (below), however I can't see the contents of all the other PMs. These messages have been deleted and his account suspended.

His bio stated he's from Monaco but his IP is based out of Lebanon. His occupation was listed as a cloud engineer. We all know you can't engineer clouds! ;)

    "Anyway, hope you're doing good!"

And for an engineer of any kind, his grammar sucks. Good catch, Carl! Thanks for keeping us safe and private.

Hello, this is Monacoblue, first of all, would it have troubled you to ask me what is going on? I did not lie about anything although you did not bother to ask me(thanks).
Yes, I am a cloud engineer and no we dont engineer actual clouds in the sky...
We set up remote storage for companies which is called a "cloud",
second, I am based in Monaco but our current project VPN setup is in Lebanon due to server location, we also have other locations such as Canada and Germany, it doesnt mean I have to be physically there... thats the point of our VPNs! third, as I have mentioned in my first reply on this thread, Im trying to build my circle of people knowledgeable in Vessels and boats, again, minds-alike, is it against your policy to have a member who is friendly to everyone?
furthermore, keeping their privacy safe? What privacy? Their wife's favorite roast recipe? Like their networth is larger than mine?(apologies for bragging) Im only interested in boats, vessels and maybe cool spots to visit, as I said before, being around alike-minded people... and you made it look like a murder investigation... I was shocked to see what you said, I felt like I committed a crime...

Anyway, if this forums dont allow friendship and learning from others, then Im okay with getting this account banned too, I should be fine, I created it to explain myself cause I know my real intentions, since you removed my ability to reply on that one.

... I dont want an apology, but it's degrading being accused of ill intentions, especially that I come from a place where honor is what is measured...

p.s. I apologize to everyone who had to get into this, I apologize for the bad experience you got from myself... assuming you all go on this forum to chill and make friends. Sorry all.

I leave it to Carl to respond if he chooses, but since you referenced my comment on keeping members "safe," I'm sure I don't need to point out that owners of even small boats are in a category of wealth (present company excluded) that might make them susceptible to scams. YF members post freely knowing that their contact info will never be sold, their identities not revealed, nor will they be approached inappropriately through private emails without consequence of rejection.

Thank you, Carl, for all that you do to best assure our privacy and safety!

I apologize for the way I view it but I never thought of boat owners as wealthy, we have enough to afford some toys. I view us as comfortable, maybe me being more comfortable than some here... but not wealthy for sure, we are not at a Jeff bezos or Elon Musk kind of level, which is good for me:D less headaches! But yea I definitely dont view us yacht owners as wealthy and even so, I would definitely not measure a person by how much they are worth, its just... weird..
my personal people metrics are things like friendliness, helpfulness, humble, etc... which would explain how I acted and I hope it didnt offend some of you...
I worry that privacy will eventually detach us from individuality and being human...
