I'm looking to replace the bulkhead on my older 46 Bertram in the future. I want to put a door in, offset center line, and get rid of the double sliders for the ability to create better seating in the salon. What is a "Standard" size door? I can squeeze a 30" but a 28 would be easier to make happen.
    Thanks..

It's got to be big enough to allow you to change out all your furniture and appliances.
    Couch, chairs, washer/dryer, etc etc.

That is the obvious. Most appliances are 24" other than fridges. Furniture is the interesting thing. I was just wondering what size door other manufacturers do.

My door is wide enough to get an engine block through. I don't remember the dimensions but I know it will fit.

The door on my 46, is 31 1/2 in. The opening was wide enough, using an A frame to lift it in two pieces through the never before used 24" salon floor hatch for the generator replacement. I believe it's centered as when the cockpit access E/R hatch-stairs are open they block access to the salon. Here is an old photo.
