Trying to replace the level sender in the potable water tank on a 40' express 2011. I know the tank is forward of the engine room and aft of the bilge access in the cabin, under the head. The only access I can find to the tank is inside the sink cabinet in the head, but the sender in not in that location. Any thoughts? Could it be under the head? if I removed it? Does not look like there is any access there to me. No access panel under the companion way stair in the deck. Hate to just start cutting holes in the boat to find the sender. Hoping someone has the knowledge of where to look for it.

No it will not be under the toilet. It should have access to the sender without destroying anything on the boat, follow the fill outside to where it would line up inside the boat and look centerline. It's been a good while since I've been on a 40'. Lift up the steps going down to the salon and look underneath there, if there's a built in trash can pull that out. OR, it's behind the breaker panel which will swing open.

My boat is a 2005 40' Convertible, however we have the same hull. My potable water tank is on centerline just forward of the engine room bulkhead in the "basement" bilge area that is accessed just below the galley on my boat. The potable water tank is just below a panel/shelf that I store spare filters on. Removal of that panel provides full access to the top of the potable water tank.

I hope this helps, however I'm not sure of the configuration on the 40 express. My previous Cabo was a 35 Express.

Thank you for the thought, I have found the location of the sender. The tank sounds like it's in the same location as your flybridge model the Head is port just ahead of the engine room. Behind the Head (Toilet) there is a triangular cover on the deck, under that I found the sender, that would be just about centerline of the hull.
    Thanks again for the post.
