Need Covington 671 TIB port side heat exchanger really bad. Anyone have a reliable source. Need help.
Capt Ralph, thank you. Yes I talked with them and they are working on a quote to build me a new one. It is the big round one bolted on the outboard side on the block.
It will hurt ($$), but you will be better off with a new build than finding a used one (somebody else's problems). As long as your bent over, inspect well your stb side H/E. Also, you have rigid tubes down there. Inspect them well also. I have replaced them with glass tubes before. I do luv that engine. ☺☺ Keep us up on your project.
I'd go with a new one, I had them make a heat exchanger for a Detroit years ago based on a drawing and it came out great. I'd really consider doing the other side as well.
