I am a casual observer of big boats and have a question for you all. I was intrigued to see a small crew cabin on the sun deck of a 80m yacht in a YouTube video recently. It was described as a "naughty room" for use when the owner has crossed his wife. I doubt this is the case but have never seen it before and thought I may venture to ask:
    1. What is the (intended) purpose of this cabin?
    2. Is it common among the largest of yachts?

The video in question can be viewed here:

    Thank you.

    1. Aft crew cabins are affectionately known as the doghouse. The latter being for the owner who mistakenly named the boat after his mistress.

    2. Crew cabins aren't common, they are essential on large yachts. Also useful for reality shows.

    Possible uses:

Large yachts sometimes have a space/room for traveling sea pilots to nap/change on long transits.

Also, some will have the space for the chopper pilot if the yacht carries one.
