After three named TD’s, A real threat that we all must keep an eye on, is approaching.
Tropical Storm Erin will expand into a hurricane and is pointing this way.
This coming Sunday, it is projected to pass north of Puerto Rico as a Cat 3 storm.
Past Sunday, very poor predictions at this time.

Let’s keep this storm on our mind, consider it during our travel plans and think about your preparations in the event it heads closer to us.

    Stay Safe & Well
    Ralph

It's so far out at this point, it could do damn near anything.

Other than "keeping this storm on your mind" and "thinking about your preparations",, Did I say to do a damm thing?

ERIN may have set a record on strength developed in the shortest time.
Numbers may not be official (Yet) but from Tropical Storm to a wild Cat 5 hurricane with in A day.
Not as wild but better news, The US Navy’s latest forecast does show a continued curve away from land.
Some foul weather will hit the US coast a little so keep your eyes open for higher tides, rip current and sudden storms.

It IS crazy how fast it built from TS to Cat 5, I won't trust the turn until it actually turns, cause it's too close to home if it doesn't turn!!!!!!!!!

Over the years it has been clear that intensity forecasts leave a lot to be desired, something the NHC forecasters often admit. Forecast tracks though, are incredibly accurate and improving every year.

Agreed. I would add... rapid intensification is when these storms have the most punch or if they are being accelerated by frontal boundary. One example is Wilma (which is the reason Fred divorced her!). She hit the west coast of FL as a Cat 1 and exited the east coast as a Cat 3. The storm had been picked up by a front and was being accelerated across the state. The backside of the storm - typically the weakest - had more punch than the front.
