Hi everyone. Looking at a 2020 Galeon 680 Fly VS a 2020 Sunseeker Manhattan 66. Love the layout of both and both have MAN 1200s with shaft drives. Looking for people who have run one or both? In terms of build quality, durability, rough water sea keeping ability, reliability ect, obviously Sunseeker has a bit more cachet and Luxury brand recognition but I don’t really care about that. I want a boat that will give me the least amount of headaches. Any info or guidance is appreciated!

Galleons are not built that great. The 66' Sunseeker is a GREAT sea boat. I put close to 10,000 NM's on one. 26 knot cruise, good range, great layout, very capable with everything. Build quality is good, the sleipner stabilizers work amazingly. It was one of my favorite boats to run.

Capt J thank you for your input! You have an engine preference? One I’m looking at has the MAN 1000s and one has the 1200s. Theres 2 on the market with CATs!?

You want the MAN 1200s. 1000s aren't enough HP to make the hull shine, get on top, ride right. Sunseeker and most Euro builders aren't known for putting CAT's in boats and the installations are not as refined as the MAN's they put in 99% of the other 66s they built because it's a rare change they made to suit a customer or two and just figured out a way to put them in there. The 1200 Mans are the same engine (weight etc.) as the 1000s and are quiet, fuel efficient, and great motors. You can't even hear the motors in the salon at cruise. The CAT's are good motors, but noisier, a little less fuel efficient, and cost the same to maintain when you factor in aftercooler replacement every 6 years.
