    IPS thought from the swamp;
    Cost of up front purchase, all that life time of maintenance VS saving you some money in operation.
    When/where is the trade off?
    SWAG --> 500 hours a year for 20 years??

    Spotted this at Cracker Boy in Ft. Pierce on April 6th. Are outboard sportfish's becoming a thing now?

    Can someone please tell me how strapping a bunch of high output outboards on the back of a sportfish make any fiscal sense ?

    It's a boat. Nothing makes sense.
    When you have some bux, it gets worse.

    OTOH; I have often thought about down sizing to something just like this.
    Seaworthy hull, Quickly replaced power heads or whole engine assemblies, Nice accommodations for a couple.
    My problem; No Bux :eek::eek:.

    Frak, Even a old Parker 28 still is out of my budget. So we keep the ole Bert.

    Another had sent me photos stating it's a Post. Why anyone would replace safe diesel with highly explosive gasoline, and put a wall of motors between where there might be an angler and a fish is beyond me, although I see no outriggers on this one so who knows.

    I believe this is the same boat in Stuart.

    What does one do with the engine room after converting a boat to outboards? I could perhaps see some benefit in a new boat specifically designed for outboards. At least then the vacated engine room space could be utilized well. But in an older conversion?

    In this 55' Ocean SS the fuels tanks are still in the engine room outboard port/stbd same as when it was built. There's a generator in a sound shield and some floorboards between the stringers where the motors used to be.

    If memory serves me right the owner who had the boat converted to outboards was disabled and the boat was built to accommodate wheelchair access. I believe a big part of the outboard conversion was for joystick piloting.

    man thats a good lookin boat but idk why youd spend 2 mil on somethin you cant really fish proper off the back of lol like at that price point just get a nice convertible w some cats or mans in it and call it a day tbh the whole outboard sportfish thing never made sense to me you lose the wake you lose the maneuverability backing down and you cant even walk around the thing like a cc so whats the point really just seems like you get the worst of both worlds imo but hey if the guy just wants to cruise around and maybe pull in some dolphin or whatever then more power to him i guess she does look sharp tho ill give her that
