after watching movie "Risky Business and seeing the 928 go for a dive, my best friend to this day and i took his dads 928 for a FAST spin thru his family owned stone quarry and dirt pits
thank god both we and the Porsche survived albeit he nor i never drove much less the saw the car as it was stored in a locked company garage on their property along with their many collectible toys :D:)

Definitely the ugliest Gp. B rally car. o_O

Oh, and Lamborghini's Huracan Sterrato debuted this week:

The sound is suitably V10'ish and glorious, but... I'd still take the Porsche, were I given a choice.

    Just throwing this out there...

Does anyone here have experience with higher mileage (relatively), longer-term Porsche ownership?

As a former Porsche owner, I'm really interested in this response.

I’ve owned a 928 (88 S4) for over 20 years. Was my daily driver for 10 years and now lives in the garage but gets out every other week. Great machine that just needs to be driven to stay happy.

I have had 911's since 1976, only air cooled. The first was from 1975 and had 140.000 km's when I sold it. It ran better than new then. My present 993 S from 1997 I have had since 15 years now and 120.000 km's without problems. All of my Porsches have increased in value, the latest more than twice what I payed, but this is not always the case with the water cooled...

Not the 156 V6, they go for silly money now. Just the 2.0, the one you rev the nut's off.

Edit to Ad:- Revving an Alfa is not abuse, just a fact. This is Alfa #6 in the Fish household.

    Yes, the full idiot.

Our great State of Guernsey just decided to double import duties on all cars, trucks and bikes overnight. In one week, during the Holidays, they just changed the laws without any oversight. I just made my £750 before the £1500 for tomorrow.

130,000 miles on our 2018 Cayenne GTS. Other than scheduled maintenance, brake pads, swapping winter and summer times every season, we had to replace the window up and down button console as a plastic bit broke. Flawless mechanically.

If you are looking for reports on 2+2 coupes, please diregard:)

Working at the workshop, we had the least faults on Porsche and Volvos.

To get home, as a serial Alfa and Land Rover owner, I have a Nissan.

I missed the last year of this thread..

Yup, the 65 hp Cub: Got my single sea license in one of those 1984. No starter motor, stand on the left float and hand-start the engine, like a full size model airplane.

This Wagon is somewhat exotic: Only 2% of Mercedes Benz buyers purchase the Station Wagons, or Estate as they say in the old countries, my 2019 E-450.

I don't actually need another SUV... the 4Runner will be sticking around.

What started me looking at Porsches - the Cayman specifically - is that I am getting sick and tired of waiting for the GR86 I ordered in March of last year (which was supposed to arrive within 10-12 weeks). It's not like I'm waiting for something "exclusive" or rare... it's a $30,000 dollar Toyota! I've found lightly used 2nd gen Caymans (987) for roughly the same price, with well under 100,000kms... just 2-3 years of relative driving for me.

Do I want to daily-drive a 15 year old car, summer and winter? Dunno'.

I'll wait 'til the snow melts...
