Here is a video of Bering sea trialing their new 65. Their website also has some excellent photos.

I wouldn't exactly call that a seatrial. They're in a calm harbor. It would be nice to see it perform in a sea in the video. Something along the lines of 6-8'ers....It does appear to be a nice boat though inside and out.

While it's not the type boat that interests me for my personal use, I find it a very impressive boat. In our period of semi-displacement and fast trawlers (which I do prefer), there is definitely a place for well executed true trawlers.

Yes, guess that's more like a float test than a sea trial, considering conditions.

I know I m reviving an old thread which I landed on following today’s Bering post

A few weeks ago, I looked at a 2013 Bering 65 with a friend of mine who really was attracted to the steel trawler concept. ... 3 minutes outside was enough to know the boat was not aging well... awful built quality... teak was done (just 8 years old) and dozens of issue like hinges pulling out etc. We looked inside because we were there but the layout was terrible and nothing made sense. Tall steps everywhere...

[/ QUOTE]

Well, that's a nice translation of Pascal's post to Spanish, but doubt that was your only intention.

I'd rather call it a poor translation, more than likely from some computer program.
Whatever the reason, which I'm also missing.

    Or she does. Who knows?
The most recent reviews of the Bering 77 on youtube from "nautistyles" is a decent look at the vessel. Accompanies by the shipyard owner no less. Well done Bering. Bering seems to have no dealers and is going about their business. The owner says that the boats are "overbuilt" by a margin of 40% or so in most or all specifications. Who knows.
The reviewed boat had only a pilot house helm station and the fly bridge helm was absent as it is an option.
There are no wing stations or cockpit stations on the boat either, the owner recommended using camera feed for mooring operations.
Some shortcomings that are easily managed for a fee to be sure, but I am wondering why a new multimillion dollar boat is not putting a helm station at the flybridge or controls in the aft cockpit at least.

Perhaps I pay more attention to the boat. I don't find the host to be a bimbo, she is doing her best to carve out a living in the boating world. She and her husband spend more than an hour setting up, traveling, shooting, getting footage, editing and so forth getting this out for free. No worries though if it is not for you. Just thought it was appropriate to this thread.
    Cheers.

That's ridiculous to not include a flybridge helm on a vessel of that size and cost. Dock it with camera's????

I should have said just announced.

To make that vessel pay for itself they're going to have to do a lot more charters than they do today, I can't see how a fairly small youtube channel and other social media activities could come even close to paying for it.

They don’t make their money as YouTubers……….

They own a brokerage, multiple charter vessels and a yacht management business previous to the channel…the channel became successful so they’ve been focusing more and more on it…….but it’s still probably their smallest business revenue wise……

Patreon is another source of their income.
Good on ‘em. They really do love boats and yachting and in general do quite a bit to promote the lifestyle. Rico was involved with Brigg ribs out of Ukraine at some time, not sure in what capacity.

In a few videos they have had their patreons tag along, those were cringe worthy, there patreons were clearly there for only one reason.

The first thing I notice is that the boat is sitting in the water below her bottom paint. That makes for a messy waterline.
